Following Jacqueline Soong’s win in 2023, Alyssa Anderson from Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network (DFSIN) Southwestern Ontario in Windsor and Frederick Pratt Jr. from DFSIN Ottawa have just both been named Rising Stars 2024 by Insurance Business Canada. This award, judged by a panel of independent industry leaders, recognizes some of the best and most accomplished young insurance professionals under 35 in the country.
Despite being in the industry for just four years, Alyssa Anderson impresses with her countless accolades and her drive for betterment. She grew up volunteering in her local community from a very young age and has a passion for helping others. Since starting her career in 2020, Alyssa has won Associate of the Year under 36 months three years in a row at her financial centre and made it to various levels of company conferences as a breakout star amongst newcomers in the entire network. She is especially proud of winning the Gold awards in both the Insurance Agents and Financial Advisors categories from Community Votes Windsor, which confirms that she is a trusted advisor her clients can count on. Alyssa is also generous with her time contributing to the industry. She is part of the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT) Academy Task Force and speaks at network events like the Synergy Days sharing her experience with new advisors.
It is Alyssa’s drive and enthusiasm that not only contribute to her professional achievements but also make her a trusted and respected figure in her field. Frederick Pratt Jr. is just in his early 30s yet he is already a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and running his own wealth management company. He takes pride in offering bilingual holistic financial planning simple to understand and easy to implement to his clients, many of whom are young professionals, families and business owners. His slogan is “a financial plan should not be measured on its performance in good times but on its resiliency in bad times.”
Frederick started his career at a different financial institution with limited product offering. That is part of the reason he decided to join the DFSIN Ottawa team where he is able to provide unbiased solution with freedom to choose products from many providers. His financial centre management team supported him in every way possible. He enjoys working with fellow advisors at the centre who share a growth mindset. Outside of his work as a financial advisor, Fred is the co-founder of a business networking group called “How to Adult,” with a main goal to provide young professionals with free resources for all of life’s firsts. He is also very involved his local community. For five years, he served as a finance committee member for an Ottawa charity that focuses on providing affordable housing to low-income individuals and families.
He is very appreciative of being named one of the Top 50 Rising Stars in the insurance industry. “It’s an honour to be considered a Rising Star in an industry that I'm very passionate about. I hope to continue helping families, business owners and individuals build and protect their wealth.”
